Cheap in price not in build! Works Great!
By A Customer
I was looking for a way to heat my unfinished basement. This product works great. A friend of mine has the “Fahrenheat 4,000-Watt Portable Electric Heater Model #NPH4A” which he uses to heat his basement, however I wasn’t about to drop $280 for a heater. This heater works just as good and is about as loud. The basement is roughly 20×40 8′ ceiling uninsulated. The case on all sides even after a few hours of run time is cold to the touch. Very solid construction and the coils never get red. The thermostat works by heating the room to the desired temp and turning the knob down till it shuts off. When it detects the cooling of the room it turns itself back on. Fan has only one speed.
After the breaker, outlet, heater and wiring it cost me about $120 installed. The outside temp last night was 36 degrees and the basement was 50 degrees. After 4 hours of continuous use and people coming and going out the basement for food and cigarettes the temp was just shy of 60 degrees. I believe if i partition half the basement and insulate the area which we use it would easily heat into the 70′s.
I hope this helps.
