Werner aluminum extension planks come in three sizes: 6-foot to 9-foot, 8-foot to 13-foot, and 10-foot to 17-foot. These convenient, easy-to-store extension planks have a 250 pound duty rating. They have positive stops every foot, which also prevents over-extension. Made of 2-inch deep box section extrusion, each extruded cross member is riveted with solid aluminum rivets. Molded thermo-plastic spacer guides provide easy open and close action. The outer flange is open for ladder jack clamps.

Great for homeowners with storage problems

Since this is not a very technical item, There isn’t much to say about how well it works for its intended purpose. After all, it’s a plank… But the real beauty comes in the fact that the adjustable length makes it very easy to store such a long stage in a confined area. I use mine incombination with 2 extension ladders and a couple of scaffold jacks. Works great.

Great price for a scaffolding plank

I bought this scaffolding plank to use with my COSCO ladder that is a less expensive version of the Little Giant. The plank is solidly made and makes a great platform to work on.
My only complaint is that the plank is too wide to fit between my ladder rungs if it is in the shortest setting. Just to clarify, the plank is two symmetrical pieces that slide together, which allows the length extension. When extended, either of the two ends fits perfectly through the ladder rungs, so maybe it is designed this way on purpose.
I also bought the medium length plank because I thought it would give me the most use over time, but I found the medium length plank to be a bit akward when used on stairs with the ladder in A-frame mode or 90 degree mode. Because the plank doesn’t fit through the rungs where both pieces meet, this medium length only works at the top of the stairs so it can spread out on the landing. The smaller version ( 6-9 ft.) might work better if you plan on using it inside a lot. Also, I need to find out if other ladders like the werners or little giant are wider to accommodate the plank, but my guess is that they are still not that wide (4″ more needed).
Overall, the plank is a great buy for the price, but you might want to get the shorter one if you plan to use it inside on stairs.

Great alternative to full size plank scaffolding…

Let me start by saying I am a lifelong carpenter and have used scaffolding and planking of all types. When confronted with a cut-up sidewalling project I decided to give this plank a try just based on the nature of the job and various plank lengths that would otherwise be needed. This Werner 8′-13′ plank is light, sturdy (less so in full extension, but like all scaffolding just takes some getting used to) and is extremely versatile. This plank has become the one go to plank I carry on my truck at all times. It can do almost everything. I have used it high off the ground on ladder jacks, low to the ground on step ladders and off the side of a house on staging brackets. It is so easy to move, I almost always set it alone. This product gets 2 thumbs way up in my book. My next plank is going to be Werner’s larger 10-15 foot plank. Two thumbs up.
